Our History
Hackney's on Lake has a long history of hosting successful parties. Since the 1960's, when we began the first of our numerous expansions, we have played host to many fine events. We want everyone, including you, to enjoy themselves. That is the simple reason behind our success.

Our Facilities
We can accommodate parties from 20 to 200 guests. We have years of experience serving rehearsal dinners, wedding and baby showers, cocktail parties, birthdays, anniversaries, holiday parties, sports banquets, corporate functions, business meetings, retirement parties, and more.

Menu
We have created the attached party menu selections based on years of experience serving parties. Your ideas are welcome. We remain flexible to accommodate the needs of each group.

Deposits / Gratuity / Sale Tax
A deposit of $100 is required to secure your reservation. This will be deducted from the final bill. All deposits are non-refundable. An 18% gratuity will be added to the bill, as well as Cook County sales Tax of 8.25%

Guarantees

• The menu must be decided upon one week in advance of the party.
• Your guest count must be guaranteed 24 hours in advance.
• The final count is the minimum number of guests for which you will be charged.
• Based on the final count, your room may be subject to change.

Hackney's on Lake Bar Information Sheet

The cocktail hour is an important part of most parties. Guests mingle, meet other guests whom they might not know, or catch up with old friends. The casual conversations initiated during the cocktail hour become the fuller conversation of the table. The guests are entertaining themselves, taking some of the pressure off of the host or hostess.

As the recipe of many successful parties begin with a cocktail, we would like to let you know of the different bar options here at Hackney's on Lake:

Open Bar
Hackney's has prepared "The World's Second-Best Martini" for over 60 years. We pour good-quality brands in our well. We offer a full range-over a hundred different brands-of spirits, beer, and wine. In addition, we make a great margarita, cosmopolitan, and strawberry daiquiri. Here is a sample of the different brands we carry (for a complete listing of the wine and beer we offer, please refer the copy of our regular menu enclosed in this packet):

• Spirits: Smirnoff, Absolute, Ketel One, Beefeater, Tanqueray, Bombay, Bacardi, Dewars', Glenlivet, J&B, Canadian Club, Jack Daniels, Bailey's Irish Cream, and many more.
• Wine: Quara Malbec, Kendall-Jackson, Bel Arbor, Little Stone, and Fontana Candida.
• Beer: (on top) Guinness, Harp, Bass, Hofbrauhaus, and Stiegl; (in bottles) Heineken, Amstel, Beck's, Lite, MGD, Budweiser, Bud Light, Sam Adams, Corona, Hacker-Pshorr Weiss.

Cash Bar
The same range of choices can be offered to your guests with a cash bar. In this instance, our servers will collect the price of each drink from the guests. Here are some prices (not including tax or gratuity):

• Spirits: well drinks, 4.50; call brands, 4.95 to 5.25, blended drinks, 5.25 to 6.45; top shelf, 6.95 to 7.95.
• Wine: Chardonnay, Merlot, White Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, 4.50 gl./14.95 btl.; premium wines 5.50 to 7.45 gl./16.95 to 27.95 btl.
• Beer: domestic 3.35, imports 4.45, Imported beers on tap 5.50 a pint.

Beer & Wine
A popular way to offer your guests something to drink while keeping costs down is to set up a beer and wine table. This table often becomes the social center of the party; the movement to and from the beer and wine table facilitates the mingling of your guests. We set a table with bottles of beer and wine on ice, with the glasses on the side. Your guests help themselves. At the end of the party, we tally up how much beer and wine was consumed and add it to the check.

The Bartender Option
If your party is booked in the Old Shillelagh Room, which has a full-service bar, we can staff that bar with bartender for a charge of 40 dollars. As the bar becomes the social center of the party, this option is highly recommended.

Cook County sales tax of 8.25% will be added to all bar items. A gratuity of 18% will be added to bar items. A gratuity of 18% will be added to the bar bill.
